ABOUT US

Kim-Frank - Wix picture.jpg

Frank & Kim Petrella are the owner-managers of this Narragansett vacation home, our primary goal is making sure our guests enjoy their summer vacation!  Convenient and Clean, we try to add new amenities to the house each year to make our home a comfort for you and your family.  Please read our reviews from some of our prior guests over the years, we try our best to add a personal touch to your experience.

We purchased the house in 2008 after being invited to the area by some friends of ours who owned a home in Scarborough and we fell in love with the area.  Peaceful, uncrowded, lots to do, and close to everything - from the Block Island Ferry to dozens of restaurants, sightseeing, and ocean fun! We rented other houses several times before buying ours, and we often hear that many of our guests started coming here as children and now bring their families back to Scarborough Beach year after year.

What makes this house unique is Peace and Quiet – Set back from the noisy-crowded part of Scarborough, the house has off-street parking for 3 cars, a large corner lot, nice quiet deck, gas grill, outdoor shower, and everything you need to relax - from dishes and silverware to a washer and dryer.  Cable TV, Wireless Internet, DVD player, and even a Sony Playstation with lots of games for the kids.  Our goal is to contribute to your vacation fun - Contact us with any questions about the house and area. We look forward to hearing from you!

Please also check the reviews since what our guests have to say proves that we care about our home, our guests, and your summer vacation!

Scarborough Beach 1

Narragansett has something for everyone with three great beaches, and many vacationers return year after year. Scarborough State Beach has body surfing and boogie-boarding as well as concession stands, showers, and rest rooms. Roger Wheeler Beach is just a few minutes away and has gentle waves which are great for toddlers. Narragansett Town Beach is also 5 minutes away where you can walk along the sea wall and enjoy the beach atmosphere.

The area is great for bike riding, walking or jogging. Take the ferry to Block Island for a day of exploring and shopping with dining and dancing at night. Visit the Galilee fishing village and have dinner on the docks or buy lobsters and fresh fish right off the boats to cook at home.

25 minutes to Historic Newport - tour the magnificent mansions and discover great restaurants and shops. Golf at any of the great public golf courses nearby, bring your bikes or take a Sunset Cruise around the Salt Pond and the Point Judith Harbor.

Other Activities: Also 45 minutes to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos

Great Rental!

(Betty S.) This is the second time we have rented this lovely home. It is immaculate, grounds well kept, quiet street. The hot/cold outdoor shower is a bonus along with the washer and driver. The owners very easy to work with. We purchased parking pass which saved us money and because we visit Scarborough Beach frequently. Would definitely rent again.

Betty Jane, MA

Owner's Response: Thank you Betty Jane - I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation and welcome you back in the future!

Perfect Narragansett Rental

(Kristan M.) This was the perfect rental for myself and my two girls, ages 11 and 8!! The property is within walking distance of Scarborough Beach (a beautiful beach). It is also proximate to Newport and many other great Rhode Island attractions. The home is immaculately clean and as described by other reviewers. I will definitely rent this home again!

Great Vacation home!

(Alicia, Billerica, MA) We LOVED this vacation property! The house was perfect for my family of five. The house was so clean and decorated so nicely - it really is adorable. The property is very well maintained and we could let the kids run around in the yard as it is on a very quiet end of the street with very few cars going by. The walk to the beach was very easy, straight down two streets - maybe 1/2 mile in total. We loved using the grill for the nights we ate there. Loved having all the amenities of home - coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, washer, dryer, WiFi and the kids loved playing the PSP, which was a treat for them. The owners are great! Frank and Kim answered all of our questions and were so helpful to us. Couldn't have had a better experience. Perfect vacation rental in every aspect. Thank you Frank & Kim!

Lovely, well-kept property

(Paige W.) We stayed here for a week summer 2013. Found the home well equipped and situated on a lovely corner lot with a nice yard. The house was really the perfect size for us, 5 adults for the week. It's an ambitious walk to the beach so we usually drove and found on street parking; beach parking is really expensive so if you plan to purchase a pass plan accordingly. The furnishings in this home were quite comfortable and cozy. I think the photos understate the niceness of this place. Highly recommend this to the smaller family.

Owner's Response: The walk to Scarborough is 10 minutes down Angell Road, and there's also a beach cart in the house in case you want to take a lot of stuff. Many renters get dropped off with all their beach stuff for the day and get picked up afterwards - that way you save on the parking fee and only one person needs to make the trip on foot. The great thing about the house is that is on a roomy, quiet property where you can actually park your car(s) at the house!

Cute and Cozy!

(From North Providence, RI) I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your beach house - It was so cute and cozy.  I would be interested in renting again next year if it's available.  I had a lovely week in Narragansett - You have a beautiful home!

Frank & Kim's House Rocks!

(Kathy & Kelly) We've been staying here for five years, and our visit this year was just as wonderful as all the others!

The house is always spotless, and every year something new has been upgraded or added.

Besides being close to Scarborough Beach and the Block Island Ferry, the house is a nice, comfortable place to relax when you're not on the go. The kitchen is just right for cooking and eating in, and the deck and grill are great for hanging out outdoors.

If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable spot to spend a week or two, and still be near beaches and boats, 33 Durkin is a great choice!!

A perfect description!!!

(JC, Smithfiels, RI) Everything was just as described. The property was immaculate and cute as can be. The washer/dryer was very convenient, and the kids loved the video games. I picked this property because it was nicely maintained and the private, backyard was just 2-3 steps down off the deck.

The neighborhood was very quiet and very few cars passed by. The owner was very accommodating and provided us with his cell phone if we needed anything.

I would highly recommend this property - JC

Had a great time in Narragansett!

(Lorrie, Upstate, NY) My 9 year old son, my husband and I had a great time this summer visiting Narragansett. This house was spotless and was just perfect for our little get away. It even had an outside shower which was great! It was very close to the beach which was very clean as well. I would highly recommend this house to a friend and hope to return next year!!

A wonderful home!

(Tricia, Durham, CT) We highly recommend this rental. Owner was very accommodating, and easy to work with. The home itself was immaculate and well appointed. Comfortable furniture, very neat, and kitchen was well-stocked. Quiet street in close proximity to several beaches. We have vacationed over 5 years at various RI homes, and this was a favorite. Don't hesitate - Narragansett is a great family trip, and this house will make you feel like you are at home!

First time in RI, won't be our last

(Julie, Flushing, NY) This is a really cute property... very convenient to the beach and all the basic necessities. Frank, the owner, was very good about answering my questions before we decided on the house and all his e-mails were helpful and informative.

We were there the last week of July and spent 5 out of our 7 days at Scarborough Beach with our 10-, 8- and 5-year old. Just a great beach! It's clean; the sand is soft; the water was nice, not too rough at all for our kids (who are used to Robert Moses Beach on Long Island, NY). We went by Roger Wheeler Beach one day, but didn't stay. It was a little smaller than we prefer and there was a lot of seaweed. We also took a day trip to Jamesport and Newport, only about 45 minutes away.

Places to eat.... definitely recommend the Crazy Burger Shack & Juice Bar, and if you like oysters, Matinuck Oyster Bar is a must! With regards to some of the local restaurant rivalries, we preferred Iggy's over Aunt Carries, and Champlain's over George's (in Galilee).

I'm sure my family will return to RI and would happily stay here again.

This is a great house! Just as advertised!

(Margie & Stu, Sharon, MA) We have rented several homes in the Scarborough Beach area but this was by far the best! It was spotless when we arrived and all the rooms are good sized, unlike many summer cottages. We met Frank and Kim who were checking to make sure everything was in order when we arrived. It made our stay seem more personal. All the amenities were as advertised - comfortably furnished, well stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, enclosed outside shower etc. It was centrally located, and we visited Newport, Watch Hill and Mystic from here, and of course Scarborough Beach which was a short walk away.

We vacation regularly in Narragansett and this home would be our first choice for a stay another summer!

Wonderful Scarborough Beach Property

(Point Judith Pond, West Hartford, CT) For the second year in a row, my family and I stayed at this property. Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The house was once again spotlessly clean, and is very comfortable place to stay. All the amenities that you could want are here. A well-appointed kitchen, comfortable living room with TV, game systems, etc. and cozy bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Add in a washer/dryer and hot/cold outside shower, and this house has everything you need for a great week at Scarborough Beach. We made use of the great kitchen for many of our meals, but we also enjoyed The Mews in Wakefield, Aunt Carries (just about a mile down 108 past Charlie O's), and Iggy's Dough Boys (across from Aunt Carries). We also spent an evening in Newport (only 1/2 hour drive), took in a Pawtucket Red Sox game, and ventured over to East Matunick State Beach. In summary, a great place to stay with so much to do. We will certainly plan to come back next year!

Great Memory for our 1st Family Vacation

(Brinnasmom, New Jersey) We were lucky enough to find this home. We walked into a beautiful, clean home. We didn't need a thing - the house had everything you could need. It was great having a washer dryer at our disposal.

The house was centrally located to shopping, beach, and restaurants. We enjoyed grilling on the deck almost every night. We will definitely look to book this house again in the future!

Nice Family Cottage

(Pamela T., MA) This was a first time rental for my family. We had a wonderful week in this very clean and comfortable home. The owners were helpful and responsive to all of our questions regarding the home and also local attractions. For those of you with children, I would say this is a very child friendly home. My two girls can't wait to go back! We enjoyed the nearby Robert Wheeler State Beach which has calm surf and is ideal for young kids. However, if you like larger waves there are many other beaches in the area. Overall, we had an excellent vacation experience and would definitely recommend this house to others!

Great Rhode Island vacation

(Jim T, Ware, MA) My family and I stayed at this property for a week in July, 2008. Upon arrival we were very impressed with how clean and quaint the property was. It was as advertised in the listing. Shortly after arriving, while unpacking actually, we were visited by the owner Frank. He wanted to make sure we were settling in ok and if we had any questions. He was at the property making some improvements on a few things. Very nice guy, easy to talk to and great to do business with. He went over all the amenities of the house and then gave us some tips on the local scene as far as attractions for the kids and restaurants. The property is approx. 3/4 of a mile from Scarborough Beach. It takes about 10 minutes to walk there, but the owner does provide one of those beach buggies to carry all of your beach gear to and from the beach which makes life much easier. From the house, you are less than a 45 minute drive from Newport, Watch Hill, Misquamicut, and Providence. Galilee and Point Judith are literally minutes down the road. Overall, the place was great and very conveniently located. My family and I had a great time. I have two children, a son 11 years old and a daughter 8 years old and they are both asking when we are going back. Very good value for the money for a great family vacation in Narragansett R.I. Thanks Frank, Jim.

Great July Vacation

(Light House, MA) The house was clean and well maintained. It is in a great location, close and convenient to everything you need. Grocery shopping, beaches, restaurants, etc. Our children enjoyed the rocky beach at Point Judith Lighthouse and miniature golf. We had a great vacation experience this past summer and would highly recommend this rental home to anyone who is considering vacationing in this area.

Very Nice Scarborough Beach Rental Home

(Scarborough Beach Lover, West Hartford, CT) My family and I stayed at a wonderful beach rental home in Scarborough Beach Rhode Island. The house and property are very well kept, clean, and tidy. It is within walking distance to Scarborough State Beach, and you can also drive closer and park on side streets for an even shorter walk. The house is very bright and cheery inside, and all the furnishings are clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the utensils and pots and pans that you need, and the deck has a gas grill. We cooked in most nights, and it worked out very well. The deck has plenty of room, and is a nice spot to relax. The house has several amenities that our family really enjoyed. The TV and Xbox were favorites of the kids, and the wireless hi-speed internet was great to have. When planning side trips, it was a big help to be able to use the internet. The owners are very helpful and pleasant, and their descriptions are accurate. I would recommend this property to friends and family! As far as eating out, we really enjoyed "The Mews" on Main St. in Wakefield. It has a pub atmosphere with great food and 80 something beers on tap. For dockside dining, Champlain’s in Point Judith works well. We also enjoyed visiting the Providence Mall, and we attended a Pawtucket Red Sox game. In summary, it's a great property that is very comfortable to spend time in, and it is also conveniently located to many wonderful attractions.

Welcome Home Feeling!!

(Relaxed & Comfy, Lincoln, RI) I have to say that this was one of my best vacation homes ever! My daughters and I felt very comfortable and safe. The house was everything that was advertised. It was very clean, quiet, and it had that "welcome home" feeling. There was plenty of things to do from going to the beach, sightseeing, Newport for a day of shopping, Wickford Village. Our favorite place is the Point Judith Lighthouse. It's just beautiful there. We can't wait for our vacation next year!! Thank you for sharing your "getaway" home with us.
